Bomber Command ex POW's

I assisted The Aviation Bookshop at the IWM Duxford Flying Legends airshow over the weekend of the 13th – 14th July. The weekend was very busy as we hosted two signing events. In association with Fighting High, raising funds for the Bomber Command Memorial Fund, we were joined by several ex members of Bomber Command, who were all ex Prisoners-of-War. Special guest was Calton Younger, RAAF Navigator, No. 460 RAAF Squadron (Wellingtons), who was signing copies of his new book “No Flight From The Cage”. Joining him was W/O John Banfield MBE (Manchester/Lancaster W/Op/A/G and Bomb Aimer, 207 Squadron, FTR 3 Jan 1943 – POW), Air Commodore Charles Clarke OBE (Lancaster Bomb Aimer, 619 Squadron, FTR 24 Feb 1944 – POW) and Squadron Leader (Rtd) Bob Ankerson – former 17 Sqn Tornado navigator who was shot down and captured during the first Gulf War. More information on Calton’s book can be found at the Fighting High website.
